picket fence quilt

I umm'd and arr'd about the backing for a while. I had enough of one of the prints for the back but knowing Abbey's love of anything soft. I started toying with the idea of using chenille or minky instead. It was just finding the right colour. Both chenille and minky are fairly hard to come by locally. But when I went to the new spotlight at Belrose a few weeks ago I noticed they had got in some stock of both. The chenille ended up having the best colour match so I went with that. I was a bit worried about sewing with it, but it really wasn't so bad. I just pop it into the dryer for a bit, which got rid of most of the fluff and increased my stitch length a little.

It's a picket fence pattern, with each block measuring 12". Making the completed quilt 48"

More clothes for the little person

A couple of corduroy skirts in production. This one was worn today and got a thumbs up from the little person.

Also started on the quilting of this. So far so good, but what a task this machine quilting is. I'm hoping to get the binding on tomorrow, so I can sit and sloth in front of the telly on Sunday with the handsewing.

25::30 thanks

With only a couple of days left, I just wanted to thank Karin for hosting. It's been heaps of fun as well as a great learning curve. Thanks also to those that have commented during the challenge. I've really appreciated your feedback.
The rest of my macro's will be posted over at flickr, if your interested.

23::30 fungus

These had to be mine, along with a cute pair of cherries and some strawberries. They are tiny probably an inch high. What some people can do with a hook and some cotton is truly amazing and oh so cute!
Brought from Yuzawaya - Tokyo.

PJ pants

I made these over a week ago or was it two weeks. Anyway, they have been a huge hit and have been worn most nights since. I used the Jackie Clark Britches and Bloomers pattern. So easy, you can have a pair done in an hour from start to finish. I'm hoping to make some more today in flannel. The fabric is a summer cotton that I got from Spotlight last year.
